Leonardo brings space closer to Earth for the benefit of citizens, institutions and businesses, covering the entire value chain of the space industry, from the manufacture of satellites and orbiting infrastructure, and the production of high-tech equipment and sensors, through to management of satellite services and propulsion and launching systems. These capabilities, the fruit of over 60 years of experience, have been consolidated via a strategic partnership between Leonardo and Thales to create the Space Alliance, alongside Leonardo’s industrial participation in Avio.

Space Alliance
The Space Alliance, established in 2005, is a strategic partnership between Leonardo and Thales that includes two joint ventures: Telespazio (Leonardo 67%, Thales 33%) and Thales Alenia Space (Thales 67%, Leonardo 33%). The complementary qualities of Thales Alenia Space’s know-how in satellite systems and Telespazio’s expertise in related services gives the Space Alliance the capability to offer an effective response to the increasingly challenging demands of global security and sustainability in space.
